Food contact material, abbreviated as FCM (Food Contact Material), refers to a type of material that has already or will soon come into direct, indirect, or potential contact with food, and is not considered as food itself. Common products include various food packaging, tableware, kitchenware, processing equipment, as well as auxiliary materials such as adhesives, printing inks, and coloring agents used for these products and materials.
The European Union and some of its member states, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea and other regions have their own regulatory systems to ensure the quality and safety of food contact materials and products, and have made very strict regulations on various types of food contact materials. Products exported to various regions must pass corresponding tests and obtain qualified product testing reports, also known as "food grade testing". At present, we can complete the testing required by environmental regulations in different regions around the world, including the US Food Contact Materials (FDA), EU Food Contact Materials (1935-2004 EC), German Food Contact Materials, French Food Contact Materials, Chinese Food Contact Materials, and so on
