GB 28482-2012&EN1400 Infant Pacifier Testing
Baby pacifiers are one of the intimate companions for many young babies during their growth process. The function of a pacifier is to relieve the emotional anxiety of infants when they are weaned from breast milk or bottles. Safety is also the top concern for consumers.
The testing requirements for pacifiers in accordance with the national standard GB 28482 and European EN1400 are as follows:
General safety requirements: Material and structural safety (nipple head, baffle, ring, handle plug and/or cover, hole, finger pinch cover)
Mechanical performance requirements: impact resistance, puncture resistance, tear resistance, retention force of handle plugs and/or covers, bite durability, rotation durability, integrity.
Chemical testing requirements: migration of specific elements, migration of phthalates, N-nitrosamines and their derivatives, migration of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, migration of antioxidants, and content of volatile compounds.
